Hey everyone!
It's been a very long time and SO many new and exciting things have happened! First, in January, I was selected along with my CGA teammates Hilary Mauro and Bianca Flohr to represent the USA in the USA vs. Japan and New Zealand competition held at The Ranch in Texas. Our team had a great meet and we placed 1st!! I also won bars, floor, and placed 2nd All Around. For my first international assignment, it went very well!
Then in February, I went to the American Cup selection camp and I was selected! I was so excited and surprised, especially since I had been in only one other international competition for our country. The Tyson American Cup was a really great competiton and it was really fun! Nastia, Shayla, Bianca, and I trained a lot, but I also got to become better friends with all of them. Even though Bianca and I did very well, only the top two girls from each country made finals, and we tied for 3rd behind Nastia and Shayla. Unfortunately, during my beam routine I fell and ended up breaking two bones in my foot, so I was limited for about two months.
While I was injured, I made great use of my time and took three unofficial visits to University of Alabama, University of Utah, and Stanford University. I loved all three of the schools, so it was a very tough decision, but I committed to University of Utah in July! I'm relieved the process is over and I can't wait to be a UTE!!!! Also in July, I competed in the US Classics, but I only competed beam due to certain reasons. I did pretty well and ended up placing 7th; I was already qualified to Championships due to my score at the USA vs. Japan/New Zealand meet, so after Classics it was back to the gym to train, train, train!!!
Now, I'm just cleaning up my routines to go out and HIT in St. Paul. I hope you're all having a great summer!
